Never be in a hurry

“Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset.” – Saint Francis de Sales

I was working with Indrani on her homework this afternoon.

“Don’t rush. Take your time, and do your best,” I said. Repeatedly.

I think the message got through. Probably. I am hopeful. ;)

Of course, there is a difference between taking your time and never shipping anything, but many far greater minds than mine have already espoused the virtues of that particular chestnut.

I’m simply nodding along with Saint Francis de Sales – don’t hurry, be quiet, and be peaceful. Even if the sh*t really is hitting the fan.

I found this to be true today, and I’m working on that becoming my default position, and that of my kids too.

With much love and gratitude,
Israel. xo
