ISIQ-0315

“The journey has to feel the way you want the destination to feel.” – Danielle LaPorte

Missed you all yesterday. Sorry about that. Today’s IQ is my direct learning from the whole thing.

I have big plans for my website, and loads of work to get there. I also have a fair bit of work to get through for my wife’s website / business, and to top it all off, I’m on full-time Dad duty for 48 hours while my wife has a weekend away with her Mum and sisters.

You could say I’ve been very busy, and a bit stressed. And through it all, my self care routine has (again) gone out the window.

Yesterday morning my wife took me for breakfast and helped me calm down and see the forest as well as the trees. (She’s amazing like that.) At breakfast – enjoying some amazeballs bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomato, turkish toast, and coffee – I chatted with Bel about this quote from Danielle LaPorte.

I was clearly making the journey feel hard and stressful, hoping that the destination would be calm and peaceful.

But this beautiful insight has taught me that if I’m stressed on the way, I’ll be stressed when I arrive. Instead, I should create a calm, peaceful way of approaching the work along the way, so I am already calm and peaceful once I reach the destination.

That lesson made all the difference yesterday. And it continues to help today.

Sorry for dropping out. But I had to learn this, so I could share something meaningful with you.

Have a fabulous Sunday, and enjoy your journey!

With love,
Israel. xo

PS Stay tuned next week for an announcement. ;)
