ISIQ-0126

Dear friends,

Yesterday was a rough day. Truth be told, so was today. You might have picked that up from my quote about courage and fear, on a solid dark background.

I had a very, very deep chat with my wife about it at the end of today, and she helped me uncover a whole host of reasons within work, parenting, finances, blah blah blah as to why I wasn’t feeling on top of my game the last couple of days.

Belinda suggested at one point how much I needed to start to love myself and nourish myself more, and more consistently. I realised how much I’d been hating myself, and beating myself down for my supposed failures on a series of different fronts.

I find this even more ironic, since yesterday I spent a good portion of the day in a haze of bliss after reading a book called Love Yourself As If Your Life Depended On It by Kamal Ravikant. Kamal happens to be the source of today’s quote. Coincidence? I think not… ;)

So anyway.

I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a blog about life balance, overcoming depression, and all the wonderful things that are available to us when we nourish and nurture ourselves. Only, I hadn’t been doing those things myself and was suffering as a result.

I’ve come to realise that this is the perfect time to start this blog – titled “Love Thy Self” – and post to it daily, as a way of staying accountable on my journey about loving myself more, and more consistently.

I’ll keep you posted once it’s up and running – in the next few days I imagine – and invite you all to join in as part of the community.

For now, please know that I value every one of you for being part of the Daily IQ community, and I take a great store of strength and courage simply from the knowledge of your presence at the other end of these emails each day. Thanks so much for being here – it has brought me joy and satisfaction far more than you’d ever imagine.

With love,
Israel. xo

PS – for the Sydney-siders among you, I’m hosting a photo-walk along the Eastern Beaches of Sydney, starting in my home suburb of Coogee. I’d love to see you there! For more info and to register, click here.
