“The bumps in the road make the ride more fun.” – Unknown

It’s true, although I would suggest it holds more easily true in hindsight.

A friend of mine – Alan Fawcett – who interviewed me for the Infinite Pie podcast, tells a story about kids on a see-saw. Almost always, after bouncing up and down for a bit, the kids will try and figure out a way to get it balanced and level. Then, once accomplishing this, the kids realise that it’s no fun like that, so they start bouncing again, or jump right off.

It’s the bumps, man. Full, perfect balance and a totally level ride is akin to stagnation and invariably leads to utter boredom.

Embrace the bumpy ride!

With love,
Israel. xo
