My Snaps1It’s a glorious sunny day in downtown Coogee (Australia) today. It’s school holidays, and families have flocked to the beach. Everywhere you look there are photographers. Mums, Dads, kids all taking photos on iPhones and the like. Moments in life being snapped.

To be totally honest, I have been snapping away like mad – like these shots here. All little moments, all cute and special. Looking at these photos, I get a smile.

But what I’ve also noticed is the glaring absence of a family photo. These photos are of members of our family, not our whole family.

Peas in A Pod

If you Google for the definition of “family”, this is what comes up.

“A group consisting of parents and children living together in a household” or
“A fundamental social group in society typically consisting of one or two parents and their children.”

(If you’re like us, you’d probably include your pets too.)

So I guess, when you think about it, with all the technology available today (iPhones, Smartphones, iPad’s etc), essentially everyone can be a photographer.

But not everyone can be a family photographer.

Do you have a family photographer? Do you know someone who can capture your family, just being your family – your interactions, your connections, your unique differences?
