“When we love ourselves, we naturally shine, we are naturally beautiful.” – Kamal Ravikant

For the last week or two, I’ve fallen off the wagon. I’ve been neglecting myself physically and spiritually. No yoga, not much exercise, not enough sleep.

It all came crashing down this morning, and I had to take myself out for half the day at the beach to rest, soak up some sunshine, and recalibrate with the happy, motivated Israel I normally am.

I wrote some words in my phone as I sat and watched the ocean. I won’t share them here, but at the heart of it all, my crash was attributed almost entirely to a lack of self-love.

I had stopped doing all the things I need to do to keep me strong, happy, and balanced.

I am sure you sometimes wonder why I share so much, so freely, with you? Occasionally I wonder if I share too much.

Here are my reasons:

1) By talking about the monsters under my bed, they no longer have any power over me, and I am no longer scared of them. (It helps me.)

2) By talking about my monsters with you, it (hopefully) gives you an opportunity to be open and vulnerable, and talk about your own monsters with me or others. I imagine (hope) this has the same effect for you, of lessening the fear and the power these monsters typically have. (It helps you.)

The end point of today’s piece is this:

Love yourself. Fully. Unconditionally. Daily.

Take time every day to do something that makes you happy and nourishes your spirit. Be the truest, best version of yourself that you can. Every day.

I deserve it. I AM worth it. You deserve it. You ARE worth it.

With love, and big, virtual hugs,
Israel. xo
