To close out 2013, I’m re-visiting some of my personal favourite IQs I’ve created this year. Where I have written something to accompany the IQ, that’ll also get included. They are in no particular order, and chosen simply cos I really like them. I hope you enjoy them too!

“If you fell down yesterday, stand up today.” – H.G. Wells

Sometimes, in life, you’ll fall down. You’ll probably get a bruise, and may even take some skin off. You will need time and patience to heal.

But, you will be able to stand once again.

This philosophy could be applied to any number of situations in our lives. Surfing, relationships, business, parenthood, health, finances, sports, investments.

Babies fall down all the time when they are learning to walk. It’s an integral part of the process. I fell off dozens of times as I learned to surf. Actually, I continue to fall off dozens of times as I surf.

Take comfort in the fact that after every fall, you’ll learn a valuable lesson.

The catch is, you might not see the lesson for a while after the fall. But it’ll be there, and eventually you’ll get it.

Embrace the fall – and its inherent lesson – today. Stand up again tomorrow. Rinse, repeat.

This is how life works. And if you’re not falling much, then I’d suggest you’re not living much.
