“Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.” – Buddha

You can’t hide from your true self. That’s how I personally read this quote.

Despite our best efforts, despite the constant fear, apathy and “playing it safe” that gets thrust upon us by our ego, we ultimately cannot hide from who we truly are. That is, I believe, the truth Buddha is referring to.

We cannot forever hide our true nature. Speaking the truth, being truthful in our actions, these things flow from a strong sense of who we are, a sense of strength and comfort within ourselves, and from a peaceful mind and a balanced heart.

Without those things, we are all just a bunch of ego-driven fight-or-flight responses. We don’t get to choose any meaningful actions, we simply react all day long, to the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.

But knowing who we are, and being comfortable with our own, most personal truth? That, my friends, is the spring from which love, strength and true contribution flow out of us and into the world.

Do you know your own truth? Are you comfortable with it? Give it some thought.

With love,
Israel. xo
