Suddenly a mist fell from my eyes

Suddenly a mist fell from my eyes

“Suddenly a mist fell from my eyes and I knew the way I had to take.” – Edvard Grieg

Today’s quote comes from a Norwegian composer, who wrote a famous piece called… “In the Hall of the Something Something. Anyone? Anyone? Mountain King. Good.”

(Sorry. Gratuitous Bueller reference there.)

The way I create these IQ’s is often like today’s quote; a mist falls from my eyes, and I see which way the path leads. It’s a magical process. An image will pop out of the thousands in my thumbnail viewer, I check if it has been used before, look at the shot for key attributes, then do some Googling for interesting quotes.

(Today: mist. Google: ‘mist quotes’. Second page: BINGO.)

The quote jump out at me equally as much as the image – some days I’ll read plenty of relevant quotes, but when the right one pops up, I instantly know. Belinda will tell you I sometimes laugh out loud at the serendipity of the quotes.

Today’s jumped out at me, because my week has become a series of beautiful, graceful events (once I got past Monday’s Chernobyl incident.) I’ve been surfing in trim, sitting in the pocket, locked into the groove – any number of analogies – with life, work and family.

I am feeling the flow, man.

And with that, I’m off to dream.

With love,
Israel. xo
