“Run after that which gives you life.” – Aaron Curtis
Today’s IQ goes out to one of my dearest Misfits, Aaron from Colorado, USA.
He’s been on a real adventure over the last two years since we first met – from graphic design freelancing, to becoming a Dad (twice), being the kids’ primary carer (Mr Mom), and supporting his amazing wife while she works full-time in a really successful Corporate gig.
My latest chat with him came up with today’s gem of a quote. He’s currently a full-time Dad (which is, let’s face it, pretty Misfit in itself), and spends lots of his spare time writing and building things. That “gives him life” at the moment, outside of his family – which gives him a HUGE amount of life as well.
What I admire most about Aaron is his dedication to being whatever his family needs. And I also love that he is constantly refining what brings the most joy to him, and spending more of his time on those pursuits.
It’s good advice: Run after that which gives you life.
Chase it down, hold on to it, and make it a regular part of your day/week/month/etc.
You’ll be better for it, just like my buddy Aaron.
