“Romance is tempestuous. Love is calm.” – Mason Cooley

I found this image from my recent photowalk at Camp Cove, around near the South Head of Sydney Harbour, and to me, it said: “Calm”. Then I found this quote by Mason Cooley, who is apparently known for “witty aphorisms”. I immediately loved it. I thought you might like it too.

(Disclaimer: It’s date night tonight, which might be why I’m thinking along these lines.)

The thing about this quote, is how true I find it.

Love – real, deep, mature love – is where you end up, after you’ve sweated your way through the tropics of passion, hacked and fought your way through the jungles of differing opinions, prevailed against the storm and wind of external expectations, and at last found shelter together in the temperate harbours of understanding.

To me, anyway.

With love,
Israel. xo
