“Leave your heart on stage.” – Srinivas Rao
I met Srini in Fargo at Misfit Conference. He was a speaker there, as well as an attendee, and has become a great friend of mine. Srini is a mad-keen surfer – which was our initial common thread – and is the host of a fabulous podcast called BlogcastFM. We catch up on Facebook chat every other day – him in California, finishing the day with a scotch, and me in Sydney, starting my day with a decaf coffee.
Today’s quote technically came from our mutual buddy AJ Leon, when describing how Srini delivered his presentation: “Man, you left your heart on stage.” However, Srini has since appropriated it and written about it, and it stands now as the perfect paraphrase for delivering the ultimate performance of your art. So Srini gets the gong.
It’s a really important quote for me right now, because tomorrow I deliver my second-ever long form “Life of Your Dreams” seminar. It’s in my hometown of Sydney, and it’s to a group of photographers. I’m nervous, but determined to make this one better than the last one – and no matter what, I plan to leave my heart on stage.
