If you do not change direction

“If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.” – Lao Tzu

I find it oddly amusing that a long-dead (possibly even mythical) Chinese philosopher’s words can, thousands of years later, so easily strike at the heart of a situation.

I guess we’re all human, and we’ve been having the same conversations and doing the same things for quite some time, yes?

The timelessness of these words is something I aspire to in my own work.

But sometimes, in my more cynical moments, I feel like saying “Oh stop it, ya show off.”

And so, to the questions at hand.

Where are you heading? Do you know? Does it matter?

I wonder.

(The photo of street signs is from, yes, Fargo. It’s kinda the boundary of the Downtown area, and Broadway is the main street of Downtown.)

As always, I send this with love,
Israel. xo
