“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” – Proverb

Firstly, let me say a huge thankyou to everyone who shared yesterday’s post. It has gone mini-viral, and has had over 670 views, which means that a lot of people have read it, and hopefully now will think a little differently about mental illness and depression. I’m on a mission to remove the stigma and raise awareness. This is the start.

As for today’s IQ, I’ll be brief. I’m practising being gentle in ALL my interactions, but especially those with my kids – the two people I am most likely to feel frustration and anger towards, like when they don’t listen or do as I ask them.

This is a common conversation – kids not listening to parents – but what I’ve noticed is that I get better results through gentle words over time, than I do with harsh or angry words (or yelling) for an immediate result. Gentle always wins. Always.

Food for thought.

With love,
Israel. xo
