“Energy and persistence conquer all things.” – Benjamin Franklin

I spent about 8 or 9 hours yesterday fighting with fixing a computer. My sister-in-law works for me, and between the two of us, we have had NO END of computer problems for the past month. Website hacks, hard disk failures, inexplicable and unrecoverable crashes, you name it.

Yesterday I decided to finally put the issue to bed, so I could move on to bigger and better problems to solve. I applied all of my energy and persistence to fixing her PC, so I could get it resolved in time for my family day Sunday to be interruption-free. I stayed up much later than I usually do, because I could tell that I was getting close to completely fixing the problem.

And I did it.

It took a brief drive to an office supplies store plus a fair bit of creative problem solving – and the odd swear-word – to get there, but I got there in the end.

Waking up early this morning to write and publish this, I have a wonderful sense of achievement and a feeling of lightness in having solved the problem – despite the lack of sleep.

The achievement is its own reward, and energy and persistence got me there.

Can you think of a similar situation in your own life, where you used persistence and lots of energy to conquer a problem you were facing? Tell me about it!

I love hearing from you.

With love,
Israel. xo
