It’s Bel here – I am always taking photos, particularly of our kids. I should re-phrase that – I am always taking snap shots. They use to be on a little digital camera in my hand bag, but now there on my iPhone. Sound familiar?

Recently I have been getting very annoyed with myself and the digital era. I can not even begin to think how many memories I have of the kids just saved on our server, backed up to a disc and filed away – rarely to be looked at again.

I realised some of our own favourite memories of growing up can be relived because our parents use to print photos & put them in an album. Now we can share those memories of our childhood with our kids. So just what am I doing for our kids so they can relive and share their favourite childhood memories?

We have our family portraits taken at least twice a year, and do a shoot of the kids only at the end of every year. But what of all the funny little quirky moments I capture on my iPhone?… nothing… they probably won’t even get to see them or know they existed. And, who knows where technology will be and whether they will be able to access the memories when they are in their 20’s or 30’s. So I literally kicked my own backside and did something with all my Christmas & holiday iPhone snaps. I made a beautiful coffee table album, and printed it 3 times. One for us to enjoy now, and one for each of the kids treasure chests.

The album arrived in the post yesterday and we all love it! In fact we love it so much that I thought I would share it with you. And if you’ve been like me (snapping happily & digitally filing) then our little album may inspire you to do something similar.

Now all I have to develop a system to choose a handful of my snaps from each month this year so I can make an album at the end of the year. Am I up for the challenge? Yes, definitely after receiving our Christmas & Holiday album, and seeing Indrani’s delight.
