Today I gave my deepest, most raw, most vulnerable, and most powerful presentation, ever.
I presented to around 40 fellow photographers and creatives about my journey, my depression, and my approach for dealing with it and making a new path in life.
I want to thank everyone who attended. You have seriously made my week with your laughter, your tears, your brave and honest questions, and your beautiful comments afterwards.
I humbly honour you, and offer you my gratitude. You truly honoured me by giving up your day to hear my story.
Today’s IQ quote comes from an all-time favourite movie – Austin Powers – for two reasons.
1) I’m a photographer, so I relate to this scene very clearly. The irony is thick, and the humour suits me perfectly. Many times have I been shooting when I’ll flip the camera around and say “I’m not even shooting you! It’s crazy, baby!”. Seriously. That’s how I roll.
2) It describes exactly how I feel right now. As they say in sports, I left it all on the field. I gave today until I could give no more. I poured every iota of emotion into my words, so I could make a deep impression on all those who heard them.
For a giggle, I highly recommend you watch the YouTube clip.
For now, I’m going to follow my own advice from today, and go to bed early.
I love you all.
